Super Easy Mango Lassi to Keep Blood Sugar Low

When people think of diabetes, they automatically think that sugar is off limits, but that isn’t necessarily true. In fact, mango, presumably the greatest fruit to exist on this planet, is super beneficial for diabetics.

Why?

For some strange and glorious reason, mangoes help regulate blood sugar. It also lowers cholesterol and body weight, too. As you can imagine, this gave a major green light to mango lovers.

Mango is Good For You

In a study published in 2011, mice were fed a high-fat diet and then either given freeze dried mango, glucose regulating medication, cholesterol lowering medication, or nothing at all.

They took data for fat, blood sugar, and lipids in the mice both at the beginning and at the end of the study.

Of all three groups, those that were given the mango had the lowest percentage of body fat, cholesterol levels, and glucose levels.

This study inspired a lot more research on mango and its effects on blood sugar.

Another study followed suit and administered 10 grams of freeze-dried mango every day for 12 weeks to twenty obese participants. At the end of the study, they found that blood glucose levels were noticeably lower in those who consumed the mango.

All in all, this is an indulgent smoothie without any of the guilt.
